These films, spanning various genres such as fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental, were released through theaters, online platforms, and film festivals. The scope of the survey ranges fromTurning Point of the Youngsters(dir. Ahn Jong-hwa, 1934) to those released up until December 31, 2022. Finally, 100 masterpieces were selected.We announce thetop 10 lists and release other films in chronological order.

The Hankyoreh[인디스페이스 등] 단편영화의 시간(2019)
2019년은 한국영화 탄생 100년을 맞는 해였다. 이를 맞아 영화진흥위원회는 기념사업추진위원회를 구성하여 한국영화의 과거와 미래를 조망하는 여러 기념사업을 진행했다. 한국영화의 지난 100년을 재조명한다면 단편영화의 역사를 조명해 보는 것도 의미 있는 일이 될 것이다. 한국 단편영화의 역사를 작품으로 정리하고자 하는 단편영화의 시간: 작품으로 보는 한국 단편영화사(이하 단편영화의 시간)는 이런 배경에서 기획되었고, 인디스페이스, 인디포럼작가회의, 한국단편영화배급사네트워크가 공동으로 진행했다.단편영화의 시간에는 모두 66명의 추천위원이 참여했고, 추천받은 작품은 모두 1,123편이었다. 이중 상영시간 60분을 넘는 영화를 제외하면 1,086편의 영화가 추천되었다.한국영화 역사에서 가치가 있는 단편영화를 추천받아 추려내는 작업은 이번이 처음이다. 이전까지영화제를 중심으로 해당 영화제의 상영 작품 중 의미 있는 작품을 선정하여 목록을 공개한 적은 있었지만, 시대를 통틀어서 어떤 영화가 역사적으로 가치가 있는지 조사하고 공개한 적은 없었다. 그렇기에 이번 추천 작업을 통해 1명에게라도 추천받은 작품은 그 자체로 의미가 있다고 하겠다. 하지만 여러 이유로 이번에는 3명 이상이 추천한 영화 304편의 목록을 공개한다. The 2025 Sarasaroun (Personal) Film List was curated by a panel of 20 contributors, including film critics, festival programmers, film journalists, and media writers.Eligible works include those that had their first public screening at international or domestic film festivals, or were publicly released in Korea between November 2024 and October 2025.TV series released within the same period were also considered, as well as restored worksprovided that the newly restored version was first introduced during this timeframe.Each contributor assembled their own list based on these criteria, guided by their personal reflections and perspectives on cinema.All lists are organized in Korean alphabetical order (by film title).A selection of the listed films will be screened at Cinematheque KOFA.In addition, several contributors will write short essays on a film of their choice from their list, to be published on KMDb throughout 2026.We extend our sincere thanks to all contributors for their thoughtful participation this year.

In 2025, the Korean Film Archive added four classic films to the National Registered Cultural Heritage, bringing the total to twelve.These works are recognized for their historical, technical, and artistic value in Korean cinema.The full list of registered films is available below.
